Addaction is Britain’s largest specialist drug and alcohol treatment agency, and we can offer help and advice to anyone affected by drug and alcohol misuse.
Maybe you are struggling with an addiction yourself, or perhaps you have a family member of friend who your are worried about.
Whether it is through our work with families, with young people, or simply with people in general – Addaction remains on the cutting edge of good practice and innovation in the field of alcohol and drug misuse treatment. We cannot underestimate the challenge of prejudice and cynicism that exists in the wider world towards those who become dependent on drugs and alcohol, often at very young ages. Addiction and dependency is not well understood, and often, unfairly, is considered a matter of choice or weakness.
Addaction was founded on the charitable values of caring for people who became dependent on drugs and alcohol and needed help.
We know how important it is to keep alive the ethos that formed us and let it guide our actions and behaviours. Without it, we will lose the energy that drives our flexible, responsive approach to our work to change lives. Without it, we lose the capacity to fight for our clients.
In our work we encourage people to take personal responsibility for their behaviours and to learn to respect themselves and others.
No one is immune to the ravages that drug and alcohol misuse can bring – but it cannot be denied that many of our clients have often had poor chances and poor expectations in life.
Addaction Lincolnshire offers a community based treatment service for individuals experiencing the effects of problematic drug and/or alcohol use. The project is a partnership with several agencies including Lincolnshire Health.
Addaction Lincolnshire also offers an open access service throughout the county and operate a self referral system which ensures that people are seen on first presentation for an assessment. Appointments are available from the three main resource sites, Lincoln, Boston and Grantham as well as other venues throughout the county. Addaction Lincolnshire also have alcohol workers in custody suites who are available to assess people if they require help with their alcohol.
It provides a young people’s service working with Lincolnshire NHS Partnership Trust and the Youth Offending Service, plus several other young person related agencies.
A Training Coordinator provides training to Addaction staff, as well as partner agencies and other local groups or services within the County that have a direct or indirect link into drug treatment.
